Crippled as an infant, Mephibosheth was given a place by David at the king’s table. His is a tender tale of redemption and restoration that also characterizes the heart of King Jesus toward us. We are all “crippled” in our capacity to rescue or save ourselves, having been damaged by the impact of sin. Yet God wants to restore each of us, and His mercies have a special way of weaving themselves into our hearts at Christmas.
